Why should I have online booking?
We live in an on-demand world. More than ever, consumers (especially Millennials) want the option to book appointments 24/7 using their phones or computers. Given the option, they would rather book appointments on their time, not needing to wait to call a business and talk to someone. Research shows that about 60% of bookings occur outside of business hours. Adding the option to book online not only opens up the potential for these types of customers to book, it eliminates the task from the business itself! The result is more time for everyone to do more of what they love, like making more money!
Will customers know the right services to book online?
All services all have helpful descriptions and are sorted into different categories to direct your clients to easily and quickly find the type of service they'd like to book. The business has complete control over those descriptions, and Boulevard recommends being as detailed as possible.
What types of services can I offer on Boulevard?
Any individualized service appointment can be booked on Boulevard, up to 2 services per appointment. Different staff members can perform each service.
Will I pay more in credit card processing fees if I use Boulevard?
Credit card processing companies charge 2 different types of fees: card-present transactions and card-not-present transactions. Because of the increased risk of fraud, card-not-present transaction fees are generally slightly higher than card-present fees. Boulevard's rates are extremely competitive and depending on the current system in place at the business, Boulevard's rates may be even lower.
Can I get direct help from Boulevard? Do you offer training?
Absolutely. In addition to having a Help Chat feature available to instantly chat with a Boulevard representative, personal one-on-one training for you or your staff is available depending on your agreement.
How much time does it take to set up Boulevard? Do you provide setup assistance?
Setup time will vary depending on the number of staff members and available services. Depending on the length of the service descriptions, we estimate about 1-2 minutes for each bookable service, including adding advanced service settings. Most businesses can easily be set up in under 2 hours. Boulevard is happy to assist with setup, and has a database of helpful articles and instructional videos to help you along every step of the way.
What type of equipment will I need to use Boulevard?
At the bare minimum, Boulevard recommends having at least one working desktop or laptop computer with a fast internet connection. Receipt printers and barcode scanners are optional, depending on your business needs. Boulevard is happy to share equipment recommendations.
Can I limit what certain Boulevard Users can and cannot see? Can they only be able to perform specific actions?
Absolutely! We understand that certain business information is sensitive, and so we've built Boulevard to allow for the limiting of certain user privileges. Users will or won't be able to see certain things or perform certain actions depending on the role to which they are assigned.
How much does Boulevard cost?
Boulevard's membership fee generally pays for itself in one appointment. Current pricing depends on the number of bookable staff members, and can be found HERE.
What do you mean by 'cloud-based software'?
Cloud-based is a term that refers to applications, services or resources made available to users on demand via the Internet from a cloud computing provider's servers. There is no standard installation needed, making Boulevard accessible via a simple login at anytime from any device that has a live internet connection.
What if my internet connection goes down?
Boulevard performs routine automatic backups to protect against any loss of data. You can be assured that your data is safe in the event of a power or Internet failure. Cloud-based software is far more likely to have downtime problems and data loss. In the unlikely event that the primary internet connection goes down at your business, you have multiple options. You can buy a cellular link card or use your phone as a gateway. You may also be able to connect to a neighboring Wi-Fi network. Boulevard isn’t restricted to the computer at your front desk; you can access your account on any device that is connected to the Internet.
My employees aren't computer experts. Will they understand how to use Boulevard?
Boulevard has been designed to be user-friendly to the many artists and creatives that it supports, and does not assume a lot of tech-knowledge from its users. From the styling to individualized settings, Boulevard is uniquely clear and easy to use by all.
Do I have to use the online booking part of Boulevard?
No. Boulevard is designed to delight your clients by providing them with an easy and enjoyable experience of booking their appointments online. This in itself saves the business limitless time dealing with schedules and playing phone tag. While it's highly recommended to enable the online booking feature, it can be disabled and Boulevard may be used solely for schedule and appointment management, CRM, and business reporting.
I want to have online booking, but don't want just anyone to be able to book an appointment. How can I address that?
Most websites will allow you the ability to create a webpage that is private, only accessible by private link. In this case, your booking widget would be placed on this page, so only those who have been given the private link will be able to book an appointment.
